First conduct about 3 months of instrument validation, then an 9-month preregistered study: recruit about 40 individuals who self-report the ability to induce out-of-body experiences and 40 matched controls, each with 6 randomly ordered induction and rest sessions. Use a weighing platform validated for human load to continuously measure, recording respiratory gas exchange, water vapor, body movement, support force, air pressure, temperature, and static electricity; simultaneously collect EEG, ECG, magnetic fields, and indirect calorimetry. Prespecify windows before and after reports and scientifically meaningful minimal mass changes, with blind analysis of residuals and independent replication tests. Electromagnetic energy loss cannot be replaced by EEG amplitude decrease.
