Research Program / Claims / blocking-11

Seth encourages conducting one's own experiments, calling them "homework," which can train abilities.

赛斯鼓励自行进行实验,称之为“家庭作业”,可训练能力。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
First, fix the complete steps of the homework and the so-called ability: if it refers to emotion regulation, use an eight-week randomized trial with approximately 300 people, comparing the original practice, duration- and credibility-matched practice, and waitlist, with follow-up at three months, with objective performance on untrained tasks as the primary endpoint; if it refers to acquiring hidden information, use another double-blind randomized target identification training with approximately 300 people, with targets and scoring pre-registered, information leakage blocked, and an independent held-out test set arranged. The two abilities must be separately funded; subjective experience enhancement cannot replace accuracy improvement.
Suggested paper title
Training Effects and Transfer Following Structured Home Practice: A Preregistered Active-Control Trial
What it would overturn
Ordinary practice benefits align with learning theory; only if accuracy on hidden targets without information leakage consistently improves would the null hypothesis that "practice cannot improve identification of unobtainable target information" be challenged.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
"Encouraging experiments" is a suggestion and itself has no truth value; "trainable ability" does not specify the ability, training dose, or transfer scope, and currently has no unique predictions.
Note
No peer-reviewed papers directly evaluating these specified homework assignments were found, so ordinary training studies are not used as evidence; listed researchers do not represent having studied this practice.
