Approximately 1,200 people receive a standardized mild provocation and are then randomly assigned to expressive suppression, non-harmful assertive expression, cognitive reappraisal, relaxation, or neutral control; measure anger, rumination, and a validated behavioral aggression proxy immediately and the next day, then follow up for one month, project about 12 months. Predefine "true aggression" as either assertive expression or harmful intent, forbidding post-hoc redefinition; the war inference must be tested separately with cross-regional longitudinal data and cannot be derived from individual experiments.

What it would overturn
If any regulation that blocks aggressive impulses necessarily causes delayed escalation, this would overturn the intervention hypothesis that "non-aggressive de-arousal and emotion regulation can sustainably reduce aggression."

Specificity of Seth's formulation
"Any attempt will cause" is a strong falsifiable statement; but if "true aggression" specifically refers to creative action, existing anger research is not a direct counterexample and must be re-operationalized.
