Adjudicating experiment
Approximately 180 channelers, divided into novices and experienced, receive positive, depressed, mild fear, and neutral inductions in a randomized crossover design; additionally, credibility suggestions are included as an independent factor to avoid confounding fear and skepticism. Each participant undergoes 4–8 sessions, each with 80–100 balanced hidden-target trials, with continuous recording of skin conductance, heart rate, and respiration; the study lasts 12 months. Pre-registered analyses include d′, c, proportion of pessimistic content, and blind factual accuracy, with separate analyses of within-participant and between-participant relationships; novices are followed up for 6 months to test 'initial distortions are larger'.

Emotional influence on reports does not require overturning mainstream theory; only independent confirmation of two-way communication with an external information source would challenge the sufficiency assumption that interactive experiences can be explained by internal generation and social cognition.
