Adjudicating experiment
Approximately 800 receivers complete a within-subject crossover experiment with three conditions: target pre-existing and observed, target pre-existing but not observed, and target randomly generated only after reports are sealed; each condition includes 60 four-alternative forced-choice tasks; senders and receivers are fully isolated, and scoring is double-blind; duration 18 months. The design first requires each condition to show replicable above-chance performance, then tests cross-condition ability correlations, pre-specified equivalence bounds, and a common latent-variable model; all three conditions being at chance cannot prove the same ability.

What it would overturn
If anomalous information acquisition is first confirmed and a common mechanism is found, it would revise the classification hypothesis that the presence of a sender and the timing of target generation correspond to different information-acquisition mechanisms, a hypothesis that is not itself an established mainstream conclusion.
