Research Program / Claims / dreaming-self-1
The dreaming self possesses its own memory; it makes no distinction between past, present, and future, and it 'remembers' by scanning its simultaneous integrated existence.
梦境自我拥有其自身的记忆,对过去、现在与未来并无分别,它通过扫描自身的同时性整体存在来“记忆”。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
For supplementary questions 1 and 3, a pre-registered study is proposed: approximately 120 participants will record timestamped past events and goals for the upcoming week daily for 28 consecutive days; a subset of goals will be randomly assigned for pre-sleep rehearsal, with unrehearsed goals and cross-subject permutation serving as baselines. Among them, approximately 40 skilled lucid dreamers will complete 6–10 experimental nights each, using eye movements during dreams to answer questions about event order, and immediately upon waking will complete the same ordering and source memory tasks, with waking imagery and delayed recall control conditions. Primary metrics include ordering error rate, temporal distance effects, and past–future source confusions; project duration approximately 12–18 months. To test genuinely future information, goals must be randomly generated only after dream reports are sealed; known future plans entering dreams cannot fulfill this adjudication.
Suggested paper title
Temporal Order and Source Memory During Dreaming and Wakefulness: A Preregistered Within-Participant Study
What it would overturn
Only reproducible access to future information that is unknowable in advance would challenge the assumption that episodic memory derives from past encoding and that future imagination is a recombination of existing information.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
The 'scanning of simultaneous integrated existence' is ontologically stronger than memory recombination, but it does not specify the scope of information, accuracy, or conditions; disordered event sequencing is not a unique prediction of it.
Note
The entire table is assessed on the full original claim; related papers do not automatically count as support. 'untested' indicates that no study directly testing the complete mechanism was found in this search, which does not prove that no one globally has studied it; proposed sample sizes are planning magnitudes and require pilot data and power analysis.
