Adjudicating experiment
For supplementary question 2, approximately 120 participants each spend 3 nights: before sleep, they learn branching scenarios with different danger probabilities; polysomnography concurrently records heart rate, respiration, and skin conductance; random awakenings are followed by immediate dream reports; using predefined content coding and external validation, test whether dangerous content correlates with autonomic activity, controlling for REM stage, arousal, and respiratory events, over 12–18 months. This part only tests scenario simulation. Additionally, for the sealed-dream-report hidden-target experiment, approximately 300 participants each provide 20 sealed dream reports in a multicenter design; targets are randomly generated after report lock-in; blind four-alternative matching with preregistered stopping rules; over 18–24 months. Even if positive, this alone cannot identify the "probable self."

What it would overturn
If obtained information not previously available could be retrieved after excluding leakage and statistical bias, this would challenge the hypothesis that "dream information sources are limited to prior learning, endogenous generation, and currently accessible sensory input."

Specificity of Seth's formulation
Provides a narrative mechanism of sender, receiver, and narrative transcoding, but offers no method to independently identify the sender; dangerous dreams accompanied by heart-rate changes is not a unique prediction.
Note
The weaker proposition of hidden-target matching can be rated as contested; the full "probable self continuous communication" remains untested. Defining the probable self post hoc from dream reports and then using the same reports to prove communication would constitute circular reasoning.
