Adjudicating experiment

For supplementary question 5, a preregistered randomized experiment with approximately 240 participants: before sleep, complete a dilemma decision with controllable outcome probabilities, recording choices, probability estimates, and confidence; four groups: sleep with relevant cues, sleep with irrelevant cues, wake with relevant cues, wake with irrelevant cues; cueing and report counts are matched as closely as possible. Immediate dream reports are blind-coded by raters using a fixed dictionary for smoothness, obstacles, and outcome valence; next-day measures include choice changes, objective gains, and confidence calibration; retest after 7 days; project duration 12–18 months. Analyze cue effects and whether dream content has incremental predictive power, but mediation analysis alone cannot prove causal role of dream content.
