Research Program / Claims / hypnosis-11
Existence itself can be compared to self-hypnosis; the inner self's complete attention or focus on this particular universe predetermines existence.
存在本身可被比拟为自我催眠,内在自我对该特定宇宙的完全专注或聚焦预先决定了存在。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
The original proposition has no indicator of "existence being determined" independent of experiential reports, so at this stage no sample size or duration can be given to truly adjudicate it; a proximate experiment with 120 participants could be conducted, crossing self-hypnosis, attentional focus, and immersive virtual environments, measuring presence, reality monitoring, and sustained attention, with three sessions per person over 9 months. Such a study can only test psychological mechanisms of the sense of presence, and cannot prove that attention creates the universe or predetermines existence.

Attentional Absorption and Experienced Presence Across Hypnotic and Immersive Conditions
What it would overturn
Only if it could be proven that attention determines whether the external world exists would it challenge the working hypothesis that "external physical processes do not depend on individual attention for their existence."

Specificity of Seth's formulation
As a metaphor, it has no falsifiable predictions; as an ontological assertion, it provides no independent criterion for existence vs. non-existence, making it no more specific than existing theories of consciousness.
Note
"Experiencing a world" and "causing that world to exist" must be strictly distinguished; the researchers listed on the [Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science members page](https://www.sussex.ac.uk/research/centres/sussex-centre-for-consciousness-science/people) do not thereby endorse this ontological assertion.
