Responding to question 4: about 150 participants undergo two fMRI sessions, with cross-presentation of actual images, cue-induced imagery, and no-imagery baseline, matching content, attention, and task difficulty; combined with trial-by-trial vividness, confidence, and neurophenomenological interviews, pre-registered analyses of prefrontal-posterior cingulate and visual hierarchy, project duration about 12–18 months. Functional connectivity differences test condition associations; effective connectivity models only provide directional inference under model conditions; adding a sham-controlled TMS with about 80 participants could enhance neural causal testing, but none of these can adjudicate whether "consciousness precedes matter."

What it would overturn
If it can be proven that consciousness creates external matter without corresponding physical mediation, this would revise the hypothesis of causal closure that "physical changes have sufficient physical causes."

Specificity of Seth's formulation
The words "forever" and "rather than the reverse" are strong exclusivity claims, but consciousness, form, and creation are not defined to a degree that distinguishes physicalism, dualism, and idealism.

Active imagination is typically described as top-down generation, not the "bottom-up" in question; if form refers to brain representations, the proposition weakens to ordinary cognitive processes; if it refers to cosmic matter, no direct support was found in this search.
