Adjudicating experiment
First, consciousness fundamentalism must be formulated as a model that yields different quantitative predictions from brain-mechanism theories. Then, adopting an adversarial collaboration approach, approximately 300 people across three centers, with EEG/fMRI and reversible brain stimulation, compare conscious content, neural activity, and intervention effects over 18–24 months. If the two ontologies yield identical predictions, increasing the sample cannot adjudicate their difference.
