The production mechanism, detection coupling, and energy–velocity relationship of the candidate particles must first be specified. Two independently synchronized long-baseline time-of-flight systems could be designed to collect 10⁴–10⁶ candidate events, using blinded timing offsets and independent geodetic and electronic-delay calibrations, with replication at a second facility. The project would take 3–5 years. After particles are detected, separate experiments on causal coupling with neural processes would still be required; the discovery of superluminal propagation alone cannot adjudicate whether units of consciousness are unconstrained by linear time.
