Research Program / Claims / waking-consciousness-3

Waking consciousness has memory only of itself and its perceptions, so it tends to assume no other consciousness levels exist; during troughs of fluctuation it may glimpse other memory systems but normally does not accept them.

醒时意识只有对自身及知觉的记忆,因此倾向于认为不存在其他意识层次;在波动低谷期可瞥见其他记忆系统但平时不接受。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
About 150 adults learn matched materials in ordinary wakefulness and in drug-free relaxation, then cross-test; with simultaneous EEG and experience sampling, compare retrieval accuracy, source memory, confidence, and state-matching effects across blank periods and sustained attention phases; 4 sessions per person; project about 9 months. Key prediction is selective recovery after troughs of genuine information encoded in another state, exceeding predictions from fatigue, response bias, and general state-dependence models. This experiment can only adjudicate the memory-access part, not the ontological judgment about the existence of other consciousness levels.
Suggested paper title
State-Dependent Memory Access Around Spontaneous Lapses of Conscious Thought
What it would overturn
If unique gains exist, it would revise the assumption that conventional state-dependent retrieval mechanisms suffice to explain cross-state memory accessibility.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
"Accessing other memory systems at troughs" is more specific than general state-dependent memory, but the memory source and trough time windows must be specified in advance; remaining wording has no clear criteria.
Note
Do not treat participants producing more narratives or stronger conviction as retrieval of true memories; use previously recorded materials that can be independently verified.
