Adjudicating experiment
Preregistered experiment with 240 participants over about 6 months: randomly give instructions suggesting 'a figure may appear at the location' or neutral instructions, with interleaved real weak visual targets and no-target trials; record reports, confidence, and EEG, using signal detection models to distinguish sensitivity from response criterion, then compare neural representations of real targets versus stimulus-free experiences. Even if shared representations appear, they can only support common perceptual processing, not a common physical construction mechanism.

What it would overturn
If only common perceptual processing is confirmed, it does not overturn existing constructive perceptual models; if perceivers are shown to generate independently measurable physical objects, it challenges the assumption that external object existence does not depend on the observer's perceptual activity.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
'Constructing images' is compatible with existing theory; 'constructing all physical objects' is a stronger ontological claim, but no measurement rules distinguish the two interpretations.

The user-proposed suggestion plus EEG paradigm is suitable for testing expectancy effects; temporoparietal EEG correlations cannot alone prove causal mechanisms or external entities.
