First distinguish between 'consciousness is worth studying,' 'consciousness has a causal role in creativity,' and 'consciousness is foundational to the universe.' For the second, approximately 300 participants in masked or binocular rivalry experiments, manipulating the reportable conscious level of creative cues while estimating objective discrimination ability, attention, memory, and expectancy, measuring subsequent divergent thinking and work quality; pre-register competing models, 6–12 months, with independent replication. Must clarify whether consciousness manipulation is separable from confounds such as stimulus intensity. The third still requires physical or behavioral predictions differing from non-fundamental consciousness theories; otherwise no adjudicable design exists.
